Leading Telugu actor Gopichand sustained an injury while filming an action sequence during the shooting for his next film. The director of the upcoming film Sriwass addressed the incident via a statement on Twitter and informed fans that the actor had a leg slip during the filming of their upcoming venture. Sriwass tweeted, "While shooting in Mysore, unfortunately our hero @YoursGopichand just fell down due to leg slip. By God's grace nothing happened to him and he is doing completely fine. I request fans and friends not to worry about this incident."

Gopichand and Sriwass are collaborating for the third time in their new film, in which Khushbhu Sundar will also be seen in an important role, with the rest of the cast and crew yet to be announced. Gopichand had two big releases in 2021 - the long-delayed Aaradugula Bullet opposite Nayanthara and the sports action drama film Seetimaarr with Tamannaah. Having made his acting debut in the lead role in Tholi Valapu in 2001, the actor is also awaiting the release of the legal action-comedy venture Pakka Commercial opposite Raashii Khanna. His film with Sriwass is touted to be a family entertainer and is being produced by TG Viswa Prasad's People Media Factory banner, with production currently progressing at a brisk pace in Mysore.

Gopichand is best known among Tamil cinema fans for playing the antagonist in the blockbuster Jayam, which was incidentally the acting debut of Jayam Ravi. Over the years, he has also featured in notable films like Yagnam, Andhrudu, Souryam, Lakshyam, Golimaar, and Saahasam.
