Legendary director Mani Ratnam is currently busy shooting for his dream project, Ponniyin Selvan, the historical epic film. The shooting of Ponniyin Selvan is happening right now at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad and the entire cast and crew is camped there to shoot some important sequences in the film. Very recently, the makers shot a grand song sequence and details regarding the song have been known. According to reports online, the newly shot song is called ‘Kuravai Koothu’ and an official confirmation regarding the same is awaited. This song sequence was shot in a grand manner with over 200 plus dancers and it is said to be one of the major highlights of the movie. Dance choreographer Brindha, who choreographed the song, took to her Twitter page to share her excitement and happiness about working in that song.

Sharing pictures with director Mani Ratnam and her dancers team, Brindha wrote on her Twitter page, “Ponniyin Selvan, Happy to be working with my guru Mani sir. He’s a true genius. Fantastic visuals talented Ravi varman. Scintillating music by Rahman sir, pleasure to choreograph for his songs. assistants Leela, Prasanna ,Raghu, are my backbone. Finally, my dancers my strength.”. This development has excited the fans and we are sure that it is going to be a visual treat for the fans.

With this completion, it is reported that around 70% of the film’s shooting has been completed. A few more days of shoot is still left to be completed in the ongoing schedule. Talking about Ponniyin Selvan, it features Chiyaan Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead roles. The ensemble star cast also includes the likes of Prakash Raj, R Sarath Kumar, Prabhu, Aadukalam Kishore, Rahman, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Vikram Prabhu, Ashwin Kakamanu, Jayaram, Sobhita Dhulipala, and others.

The film is being shot on a massive scale with a huge budget and everyone is eagerly looking forward to witnessing the epic film on the big screens. Ponniyin Selvan is being made as a two-part film and it is bankrolled by Subaskaran’s Lyca Productions in association with Madras Talkies. A.R.Rahman will be scoring for this film which has cinematography by Ravi Varman and editing by Sreekar Prasad. Elango Kumaravel, Jeyamohan, and Mani Ratnam have worked together on the film’s screenplay and dialogues.
