A film that is progressing at rapid pace, Vijay’s upcoming Thalapathy 62 under A. R. Murugadoss’s direction marks the third occasion they are coming together after their blockbusters, Thuppakki and Kaththi.
Powered with music by A. R. Rahman under the Sun Pictures banner, Vijay 62 will see Keerthy Suresh playing the female lead opposite 'Thalapathy' after last year’s Bairavaa.
Two schedules have already been wrapped up for Thalapathy 62 with the third currently ongoing in Chennai for the past few days in prominent locations also featuring Yogi Babu as the comedy relief.
In the midst of this, veteran actor Radha Ravi was announced to be part of the Vijay 62 cast and is said to be playing the antagonist.
Sun Pictures also announced actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar to be part of the cast in Thalapathy 62 in a vital role.

Although details around her role have been kept under wraps, there are reports now doing the rounds stating Varalaxmi Sarathkumar is playing one among the many negative characters in Vijay 62.

Varalaxmi Sarathkumar began filming her portions on Thalapathy 62 earlier this week in Chennai after being announced to be part of the film’s cast.
If Varalaxmi is indeed playing a negative role in Vijay 62, it wouldn’t be the first time her name has been attached to such a role.
It must be noted she is already said to be the antagonist in the Vishal and Keerthy Suresh starrer, Sandakozhi 2.
She is also part of the Dhanush and Sai Pallavi starrer, Maari 2, which also will reportedly feature her in a negative character as a district collector.
Thalapathy 62 sure is gearing up for a massive release most likely this Diwali.
It must be noted Varalaxmi's career has taken a big swing upwards as she has been cast in multiple projects namely the Karthik, Gautham Karthik and Regina Cassandra starrer, Mr. Chandramouli.
Her first release of 2018 will most likely be Echcharikkai – Idhu Manidhargal Nadamaadum Idam along side Sathyaraj.
She will also be seen opposite Vemal in Kanni Rasi with veteran Pandiarajan in a vital role.
She also announced earlier this week her next film Neeya 2 alongside Jai, Catherine Tresa and Raai Laxmi.
