Thalaivar 165 has a star-studded cast of Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, Bobby Simha, Trisha Krishnan, Simran. Megha Akash is also rumored to be in the cast as well. This is the fourth time that Karthik Subbaraj is collaborating with Vivek Harshan. They had already worked in Jigarthanda, Iraivi, and Mercury. Vivek Harshan won the National Award for Best Editing for the movie Jigarthanda.
