Dhanush in Maari 2

Meanwhile, at the Maari 2 press meet today, Dhanush spoke in detail about Yuvan’s contribution to film saying, “My journey with Yuvan started back during the Thulluvatho Ilamai days. To me and my brother Selvaraghavan, he was like a hero and was the most trending name back then and he still is now. I want to thank him from the bottom of my heart for his music in that film and Kadhal Kondein. If it had not been for him, such an opening would not have happened and our lives as we would have literally been on the streets.”

He then went on to state, “Some might found it offensive, but I feel okay to say this because it is the truth. Right from the 1990s, Yuvan’s competition has been changing, but he has been in the industry for more than two decades. He said that Maari 2 will be the much-needed push he has been wanting. I don't know why he said that, but it hurts when he speaks such things. Please don’t say that, Yuvan.”

Dhanush then went on to speak about Yuvan joining Ajith’s Thala 59 saying, “I heard about the news about him working in AK 59 and I’m very happy for him.”

In conclusion, he said, “Selvaraghavan sir would not take me to recording sessions in the previous films. With Maari 2, I finally got that opportunity to work with and I sat down with him as his fan first and foremost”.
