Lokesh Kanagaraj has had a spectacular 2022 after the blockbuster success of his Vikram and the filmmaker will soon begin shooting his next big venture, the tentatively titled Thalapathy 67, which marks his reunion with Tamil superstar Vijay after their box office money-spinner Master. With pre-production works underway and the upcoming film's pooja held sometime back, the hit director was one among the many leading names at Galatta Plus The Tamil Cinema Roundtable 2022, which also saw directors Gautham Menon, Vignesh Shivan, Halitha Shameem, and producer Archana Kalpathi take part in the discussion, with National Award-winning film critic Baradwaj Rangan, the Editor-in-Chief of Galatta Plus taking charge as the host.

During their discussion at Galatta Plus The Tamil Cinema Roundtable 2022, Lokesh Kanagaraj shared his thoughts about collaborations, with the filmmaker revealing his process and approach. He said, "It all comes down to how easily one can gel with a person. Take for instance the 'Naayagan Meendum Varaar' (Vikram title track), the lyrics of the song were written by my assistant Vishnu Edavan. All I had to do was explain to him the scene and he then came up with the lyrics." Filmmaker Vignesh Shivan too chimed in and showered his praises on Vishnu Edavan saying, "The value of lyrics in Vikram is excellent. The song 'Porkanda Singam' was also written by him and was excellent. Even in Master, the 'Polakattum Para Para' song's lyrics were written by the same person."

Lokesh Kanagaraj then goes on to say, "The lyrics for that song were written in an hour's time after he started at 10 a.m. and finished it by 11 a.m. All I told him was about the scene and to keep the lyrics relatable to the visuals. That comfort is there in our collaboration." Vignesh Shivan further complimented and said, "He's extremely brilliant. There's so much depth in those lyrics. One time, I went to the Master audio launch since I had written lyrics for a couple of songs and I was amazed by that boy's talents." Lokesh Kanagaraj then revealed, "He has now written two songs in my next film (Thalapathy 67)."

This latest Thalapathy 67 songs update has come as big delightful news for fans on social media, with many of them expressing their excitement for the film to begin rolling soon. The film revealed to be a pan-Indian project is expected to be formally announced in January 2023 and composer Anirudh Ravichander will be collaborating with Lokesh Kanagaraj once again after they previously worked in films like Master and Vikram
