2021 is set to be a big year for 'Thalapathy' Vijay fans as the superstar's highly-anticipated mass masala action entertainer Master hit screens worldwide on Wednesday as a massive Pongal treat. Master has arrived on the big screens after a wait for nearly a year due to the coronavirus pandemic, which pushed the film's release from its initial plan of coming out on April 9 last year. The year going forward is set to be an important one for Vijay, who was announced recently in December to be leading Sun Pictures' next, the tentatively titled Thalapathy 65 under Nelson Dilipkumar's direction.

Thalapathy 65 will be Vijay's second association with the reputed Sun Pictures banner after the two collaborated for the 2018 film, Sarkar, which turned out to be a thunderous box office blockbuster and one of the biggest hits in the superstar's career. An announcement video for Thalapathy 65 with Vijay, producer Kalanithi Maran and director Nelson Dilipkumar was unveiled last month, with the reveal of 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander also coming on board the illustrious project. Having said that, popular choreographer Jani Master took to his Twitter page on Wednesday to wish the entire team of Master for a sensational box office outing, while also dropping the bombshell announcement that he will be a part of Vijay's Thalapathy 65. He wrote, "Wishing a HUMONGOUS Success to #MasterFilm team. I'm all excited to work in #ThalapathyVijay Sir & @Nelsondilpkumar Sir's much awaited next Star-struck #Thalapathy65". Check out his tweet below:

Jani Master's biggest triumph came when he choreographed along with Prabhu Deva the global hit 'Rowdy Baby' in the 2018 film, Maari 2, starring Dhanush and Sai Pallavi. Composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, 'Rowdy Baby' turned out to be a success around the world, with the young and old alike, and the video since being uploaded on YouTube going on to become the first South Indian song to cross 1 billion views. It is to be noted that Jani Master had also recently announced that he had completed choreography for the first song's shoot in Dhanush's D43 also starring Malavika Mohanan and Smruthi Venkat under Karthick Naren's direction featuring music by G. V. Prakash.

As for Thalapathy 65, the upcoming film touted to be an action feast based on the announcement promo teaser will be Nelson Dilipkumar's third directorial after he tasted box office success in his debut Kolamaavu Kokila in 2018, with 'Lady Superstar' Nayanthara in the lead role. His second film, Doctor, starring Sivakarthikeyan and being produced by the leading actor, wrapped up production recently and is being planned for a theatrical release in the next few months. Thalapathy 65 will incidentally also be Anirudh's third collaboration with Vijay after his Kaththi in 2014 and Master, with fans expecting the composer to deliver yet another chart-buster album.
