Ajith Kumar's Valimai released yesterday (February 24) amidst huge expectations from the fans and film buffs and the film is off to a phenomenal start at the box office. Valimai is Ajith's first release in the last 2.5 years and so the fans have been elated to see their favourite star on the big screen. The celebrations happened on a grand note at various theatres across Tamil Nadu yesterday. However, certain controversial incidents also took place at different venues in Tamil Nadu. In the name of celebrations, some unwelcoming moments have happened and it has garnered attention on social media.

According to reports, two Ajith fans have bitten a Police officer in Trichy following which they were arrested. During the FDFS celebration of Valimai at a theatre in Lalgudi, Trichy, two fans bit a Police officer who was there at the theatre to control the crowd. The Police officer is identified to be Suresh whose shirt was also torn by the fans. Following the commotion and chaos between the fans and the police, the two fans were arrested. It is said that the two fans attempted to burst crackers in front of the theatre screen and when Suresh, the Police, went ahead to control them, he was bitten.

The two arrested fans are known to be Gopinath and Arun Kumar. This incident has garnered a wide buzz across the state. Further details regarding the issue are awaited.

Talking about Valimai, this Ajith starrer is directed by H Vinoth who is known for his promising content-driven movies like Sathuranga Vettai and Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru. Produced by Boney Kapoor under the banner of Bayview Projects LLP, the film has popular Telugu actor Kartikeya playing the antagonist, alongside Huma Qureshi, GM Sundar, Sumithra, Raj Ayyappa, in supporting roles. With music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematography by Nirav Shah, the film is currently running successfully in the theatres.
