The shooting of Silambarasan TR's new movie Pathu Thala started a few weeks back and is going on in full swing. Written and directed by Obeli N Krishna, the film is bankrolled by K. E. Gnanavel Raja and Jayantilal Gada under the banners of Studio Green and Pen Studios respectively. The film stars Simbu, Gautham Karthik and Gautham Vasudev Menon in the lead while Priya Bhavani Shankar, Kalaiyarasan, Murali Sharma and Teejay Arunasalam among others will be seen in supporting roles.

TeeJay Arunasalam, who is famously known for playing the roles of Dhanush's son Velmurugan in Asuran, took to Twitter today to express his gratitude and praise towards Simbu. He recounts his experience with the versatile actor and says, "I finally performed with @SilambarasanTR_  anna. I was over the moon when he said 'i loved the attitude in your performance'. Pathu Thala is officially based on the critically acclaimed Kannada super hit film Mufti. Simbu will be seen playing the role of the gangster AGR while Gautham Karthik plays an undercover cop in the highly anticipated film that is scheduled for a theatrical release on December 14. On the technical side of things, Isai Puyal A. R. Rahman has been roped in to compose the music for the film, Farook J Basha as its director of photography, and Praveen KL as the editor.

Gautham Menon and Silambarasan TR have previously worked together in films such as Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa and Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada so it will be interesting to see the two face each other on the big screen. The duo are currently awaiting the release of their new film together Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu which is all set to hit the screens in less than two weeks on September 15.
