Leading Tamil actor Silambarasan TR's Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu is set for a grand worldwide theatrical release on September 15 and the excitement is in the air among the superstar's fans to witness him deliver yet another power-packed performance after last year's blockbuster Maanaadu. Directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon under Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh's Vels Film International banner and featuring music by Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman, the upcoming gangster film has been confirmed to come out on the Amazon Prime Video OTT streaming platform after its theatrical release.
Special standees and posters put up at STR's Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu audio launch event being held today, September 2, Friday, at Vels University in Pallavaram, Chennai, show Amazon Prime Video to be the owner of the film's OTT rights. The official announcement is expected to be carried out along with the VTK trailer releasing tonight, which has been highly anticipated for quite some time and is the talk of the town. Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu is the third time Simbu, Gautham Menon, and A. R. Rahman have come together for a film after their Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa (2010) and Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada (2016).
The Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu audio launch is being held with Silambarasan and the film's cast and crew in attendance in the presence of more than 6,000 fans, while 'Ulaganayagan' Kamal Haasan and actor-politician Udhayanidhi Stalin have been invited as the chief guests. The film is being released across Tamil Nadu by Udhayanidhi's Red Giant Movies and fans expect it to have a huge release in a majority of theatres in the state. Apart from STR, Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu's star cast includes Siddhi Idnani as the female lead, while Radikaa Sarathkumar, Siddique, Neeraj Madhav, and Appukutty among others will be seen in pivotal roles.
