Maanagaram fame Sundeep Kishan's next film has been titled Michael and will be shot in Telugu and Tamil, with 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi cast in a special role, while filmmaker-actor Gautham Vasudev Menon is playing the antagonist. Being directed by Ranjit Jeyakodi, who is known for Puriyaatha Puthir and Ispade Rajavum Idhaya Raniyum, the upcoming film has now cast actress Divyansha Kaushik as the female lead. Her character's name in Michael has been revealed to be Theera and is assumed to be seen playing the role of a musician.

Being produced by Narayan Das K Narang, Bharath Chowdary and Puskur Ram Mohan Rao's Karan C Productions LLP banner in association with Sree Venkateswara Cinemas LLP, the team took to social media on Saturday to reveal the casting of Divyansha Kaushik in Michael, with a violin emoji as well being added in the announcement. The tweet reads: #Micheal finds his #Theera Welcoming the Gorgeous @itsdivyanshak  as the Mysterious #Theera". Divyansha is best known for playing the second female lead in the Naga Chaitanya and Samantha-starrer Majili in 2019 and is currently awaiting the release of her Takkar in Tamil opposite Siddharth. Michael has been announced to be a pan-Indian film and will also be released in Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam languages. Director Ranjit Jeyakodi, who tasted success with his romantic drama film Ispade Rajavum Idhaya Raniyum, starring Harish Kalyan and Shilpa Manjunath, is stepping into the action zone for Michael. Having played a dynamic role in Lokesh Kanagaraj's Maanagaram, Sundeep Kishan, who has also been seen in Tamil films like Nenjil Thunivirundhal, Maayavan, and most recently Kasada Thapara, will be looking to fire on all cylinders in Michael. The film is also the second collaboration for Ranjit Jeyakodi with Vijay Sethupathi after their Puriyatha Puthir and they too will be looking to come out all guns blazing.
