Sivakarthikeyan's 2023 is off to a grand start with the release of his first big film of the year, Maaveeran, and its Telugu version Mahaveerudu turning out to be a blockbuster in less than a week. Directed by Mandela fame Madonne Ashwin and produced by Arun Viswa's Shanthi Talkies banner, the political fantasy film released in Tamil Nadu by Red Giant Movies has collected 50 crores gross in worldwide collections. With Maaveeran continuing to witness a strong audience turnout in theatres even on the weekdays, producer Arun Viswa on Tuesday, July 18, penned a heartfelt statement about the entire journey of making the film to its grand release.

Maaveeran producer Arun Viswa started off by saying that he still feels surprised that he has made his production debut on such a big scale with a big star like Sivakarthikeyan. He wrote on Twitter, "When I started Shanthi Talkies I never dreamt of making my debut film on such a grand scale with such a big star! And then the big day arrived on July 14, 2023! Ever since, whatever has happened has been surreal! (sic)" Extending his gratitude for the love being showered on the Maaveeran team, Arun Viswa stated that the adulation needs to go to the film's director Madonne Ashwin. He said, "The amount of love and affection we've been receiving from our SK fans and cinema audience has been truly overwhelming. All because of one man! He gave us strength and confidence and made each one of us feel like 'Maaveeran'! He trusted me, Madonne Ashwin, his team, and his vision. That trust has brought us here today! I feel grateful and proud to have such a friend in my life! What else do you need when you have a friend who inspires you and others alike. (sic)" Arun Viswa concluded his statement and showed his gratefulness to Sivakarthikeyan and wrote, "Thank you, my dear SK. Thanks for the trust. Thanks for being a real Maaveeran ❤️ #Maaveeran #Mahaveerudu (sic)."
