"We Should Bring Back SPB" - STR's Emotional Statement About SPB
SP Balasubrahmanyam, fondly called as SPB, tested positive for the novel coronavirus on August 5th and was admitted at the MGM Healthcare for further treatment. SPB released a video from the hospital and said that he had mild symptoms and that his fever had subsided and that he has a cold. On August 13th, MGM Healthcare released a statement saying the SP Balasubrahmanyam was stable and that his oxygen levels are normal. However, his health conditioned worsened later that night and was said he is in critical condition. SPB was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and is on life support. MGM Healthcare released a statement on August 19th explaining the current health condition of SPB. The management has stated that SPB is still on a ventilator and is being monitored by an expert of doctors. It is also stated that SPB is under the support of Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO).
Following the shocking news, fans and leading celebrities including Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth, Dhanush, AR Rahman, Ilayaraaja and many more took to social media to wish the star singer a speedy recovery. Veteran director Bharathiraja has also called for a mass prayer for SPB, tomorrow (August 20) evening at 6 PM and he has also asked big names like Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Ilaiyaraaja, AR Rahman among other to be a part of this mass gathering from their respective homes. Bharathiraja has also asked all the fans and well-wishers of SPB to join this mass prayer as a mark of love and gratitude.
The latest to wish the legendary singer is none other than Silambarasan TR aka STR. The actor released a press statement praying and wishing for SPB for speedy safe recovery.STR also asked everyone to pray for SPB tomorrow. Check out his statement below,

He has also been honoured with the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan. Since his singing debut in 1966 with the Telugu film Sri Sri Sri Maryada Ramanna, Balasubrahmanyam has recorded over 40,000 songs in 16 Indian languages.
