Selvaraghavan reveals the film that is close to his heart - guess which one?
Today is August 19 and this day is observed as World Photography Day. Netizens are expressing their love for photography and photographers on social media and a lot of beautifully captured pictures are being shared on the internet. Dhanush’s Mayakkam Enna is a film that explored the life journey of an aspiring photographer. This Selvaraghavan directorial has a separate fan base and is very special for a lot of youngsters, especially the ones interested in photography and other art forms. Dhanush’s performance as a struggling photographer received praises from all quarters. G.V.Prakash’s songs and Selvaraghavan’s screenplay were some of the major positives of the film.
Having said that, Selvaraghavan took to his Twitter space earlier today (August 19) to share that Mayakkam Enna is a film that is close to his heart. Retweeting a scene from the Dhanush starrer, Selvaraghavan wrote, “Like #photography, this is a film that is so close to my heart. #MayakkamEnna. Happy #WorldPhotographyDay”.
Similarly, Selvaraghavan’s wife Gitanjali who worked as an associate director in the film had something interesting to say. She tweeted, “A film that is deeply personal to me. What I learnt working on this film, the people i met and the relationships i formed during this time were truly a golden period in my life, filled with moments that have been captured in my heart forever. #MayakkamEnna #WorldPhotographyDay”. Interestingly, only during the filming of Mayakkam Enna, Selvaraghavan and Gitanjali fell in love with each other and there has been no lookback since then.
On the work front, Selvaraghavan is currently busy with the scripting works of his next film which is expected to have Dhanush playing the lead role. Though an official announcement is yet to be made, the fans are eagerly waiting for the Pudhupettai combination to strike back once again. If reports are to be believed, this film might be produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu under the banner of V Creations. The fans are also waiting for Selvaraghavan’s long delayed horror thriller, Nenjam Marapathillai to release either in OTT or in theatres soon. Nenjam Marapathillai, which stars S.J.Surya, Regina Cassandra and Nandita Swetha in the lead roles has not seen the light of day yet due to various financial problems associated with the production of the film. For now, check out the tweets of Selvaraghavan and Gitanjali Selvaraghavan about Mayakkam Enna below:
