Radio Jockey turned filmmaker RJ Balaji is set to present his second directorial titled Veetla Vishesham, which is scheduled to open in theatres on June 17, and is an official remake of the smash hit 2018 Hindi film Badhaai Ho. Produced by Boney Kapoor's Bayview Projects LLP in association with Zee Studios and Romeo Pictures banners, promotions for the family comedy entertainer are being done extensively and the early buzz for the film has so far been positive as fans on social media have been expressing their interest to watch it in theatres starting this week. That being said, RJ Balaji, who has been outspoken about various issues over the course of his career, has now expressed his views regarding director Nelson Dilipkumar and the negative feedback he has been receiving from certain sections of the fans for his work in his third directorial, Beast, starring 'Thalapathy' Vijay and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles.

On Monday, RJ Balaji shared a video as part of the promotions for his Veetla Vishesham, which received a strong response from fans, including one social media user who made a reference to Beast director Nelson Dilipkumar. However, the Mookuthi Amman filmmaker was quick to step in to defend Nelson and showered praises on him calling him an "extraordinary director". RJ Balaji tweeted, "Neslon is an extraordinary director..! I’ve worked with him in many shows and been a huge fan of his films..! He s one amazing talent with such an inspiring journey..! Am sure he’s gonna give us somuch happiness with his films in the future !!!❤️ Lets stop this plz.🙏🙏🙏". Nelson, whose previous directorial ventures Kolamaavu Kokila starring Nayanthara and Doctor with Sivakarthikeyan were showered with critical acclaim, suffered a setback with 'Thalapathy' Vijay's Beast after the reviews turned out to be mixed despite the mass action film turning out to be a raging box office success. As for his Veetla Vishesham, RJ Balaji will be looking to hit the bullseye once again after the stunning response to his directorial debut Mookuthi Amman, which premiered directly on OTT in 2020 as a Dilwai treat. The upcoming film will see him sharing screen space with Soorarai Pottru heroine Aparna Balamurali, with veteran actors Sathyaraj, Urvashi and the late K.P.A.C. Lalitha appearing in key roles, and Shivani Narayanan, Pavithra Lokesh, Yogi Babu, Mayilsamy ,Pugazh, George Maryan among others forming the ensemble supporting cast.
