Streaming giant Jio Cinema will premiere the Hindi film, Mumbaikar, an official remake of the hit 2017 Tamil film, Maanagaram, on June 2. The upcoming hyperlink thriller film skipping a theatrical release has been directed by acclaimed cinematographer-filmmaker Santosh Sivan and stars Vikrant Massey in the lead role, while Vijay Sethupathi will be seen in the character portrayed by actor Munishkanth in the Tamil version. With Jio Cinema announcing a host of projects premiering on their streaming platform and Mumbaikar produced by HR Pictures being one among them, the much-awaited trailer of the film has now been released and gives us a glimpse into what awaits everyone from next week. 

The Mumbaikar trailer starts off with a montage of Mumbai and life in the city before introducing to us the four people whose lives get intertwined with each other. The visuals extensively feature Vijay Sethupathi, with Ranvir Shorey, Sachin Khedekar, Sanjay Mishra, Hridhu Haroon, and Tanya Maniktala, among others also being shown in a story that revolves around a kidnapping incident as one of the plot points over the course of a single night. Tamil cinema audiences will be looking to witness Vijay Sethupathi's performance in Mumbaikar in the role once portrayed by Munishkanth in Maanagaram

A description on the Jio Cinema platform states that "Mumbaikar chronicles the journey of the key characters whose lives suddenly converge across multiple events that take place during a 24-hour period and subsequently change the characters’ perspectives towards the city and life itself. With its compelling narrative, the movie promises to take audiences on an exciting journey and witness the lesser-known sides of India’s city of dreams."
