'Superstar' Rajinikanth's Jailer announced for a grand worldwide release on August 10 is en route to the finish line and preparations are set to kick off soon for the film's full-scale promotions in the days ahead. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar under the prestigious Sun Pictures banner, the mass action entertainer featuring music composed by Anirudh Ravichander has several big highlights and one among them is the massive ensemble star cast that includes leading actress Tamannaah in a key role. With production nearing its end, Tamannaah on Friday posted a photo of herself from a dance rehearsal for a song in Jailer on her Instagram Story. Tagging director Nelson, the leading Tamil actress wrote, "#jailermovie", while also adding the text, "Calm before the song", leading to speculation that a treat in the form of a track from the film might be getting released soon.

Although not much is known about Tamannaah and her part in Rajinikanth's Jailer at this point, we can expect her to play an important role in the story, with her character being introduced for a brief moment recently for the first time alongside the rest of the cast in the film's release date announcement video. Apart from sharing screen space with Rajinikanth, Jailer will see Tamannaah appearing alongside Kannada superstar Dr. Shivarajkumar, Malayalam icon Mohanlal, Telugu star Sunil of Pushpa fame, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Taramani and Rocky actor Vasanth Ravi, Maryan antagonist Vinayakan, Mirna Menon, Jaffer Sadiq, Kishore, Billy Muralee, Sugunthan, Karate Karthi, Mithun, Arshad, Marimuthu, Namo Narayana, Rithvik, Ananth, Saravanan, Aranthaangi Nisha, Mahanadi Shankar, and Kalai Arasan.
Rajinikanth will be coming out firing on all cylinders with Jailer after his last release, Annaatthe, in 2021, didn't hit a high note despite being a phenomenal commercial success. The actor's character in the upcoming film is named Muthuvel Pandian after Sun Pictures released a special glimpse introducing him for the first time to the audiences a while back. Jailer is the fourth time Rajinikanth and Sun Pictures have teamed up after films like Enthiran, Petta, and Annaatthe. There is a massive buzz surrounding Jailer considering the inclusion of such a huge supporting cast is going to be a big factor in the proceedings of the story and fans expect Nelson to hit the bullseye and deliver a cracker of an entertainer after his last film, Beast, with 'Thalapathy' Vijay ended up getting mixed reviews in spite of turning out to be a box office money-spinner.
