R Madhavan steps in the shoes of ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan in his upcoming film Rocketry: The Nambi Effect and the makers have dropped the second official trailer of the film. In this biopic, we see our beloved Maddy absolutely nailing this larger-than-life role by portraying the veteran figure so convincingly. The trailer was released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.

The trailer represents a young Nambi who aspires to build a cutting-edge rocket for his country and the difficulties he had to go through to achieve this dream. But once achieved, he is accused of espionage - for leaking drawings of the project to the competitors. It also shows how he was treated and shunned from the public following these false allegations pressed upon him.

Written, directed, produced, and starring R Madhavan in the titular role, the film revolves around the most eventful period in the life of Nambi Narayanan, a former scientist and aerospace engineer of the ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation), who was falsely accused of espionage. We the audience are given the chance to witness his life from the years of 27 to 70. Head of ISRO’s cryogenics division, Narayanan was falsely accused of espionage and arrested in 1994. All charges against him were dismissed by the Supreme Court in 1998 but case regarding his compensation fee went all the way until September 2018.

Madhavan's detailed prosthetic makeovers to portray Nambi Narayanan through different ages has garnered a lot of attention and praise all over social media. Simran is playing the female lead opposite Madhavan in the film. The two are reuniting together after 20 years having earlier starring in the 2002 film Kannathil Muthamittal. The film also features several Hollywood stars, including Ron Donachie of Titanic fame. The film was applauded at the 75th Cannes Film Festival.
