The leading Tamil actor will be seen next in the highly-anticipated Leo being directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj under Lalit Kumar's 7 Screen Studio banner, which will also feature music composed by Anirudh Ravichander. With production on Leo currently underway at a steady pace in Chennai, Lokesh Kanagaraj on Friday, June 16, took to social media to hint at a big treat coming up ahead of Vijay's birthday.

Taking to Twitter, Lokesh Kanagaraj surprised fans by asking them if they were ready hinting at something special from Leo next. Keeping his tweet short, the blockbuster director wrote, "Ready ah?", with Vijay's fans showing their excitement by bombarding him with their replies. Although Lokesh Kanagaraj hasn't revealed anything yet, social media has been abuzz over the past week with speculations that the Leo team could be releasing something special on Vijay's birthday. There have been rumors that the much-awaited Leo first single will likely be launched on the actor's birthday, with fans also expressing their hope for the film's first look to be unveiled since the title announcement promo was already released a few months back to a rousing response. There have also been strong speculations that a special glimpse video for Leo featuring a voiceover by 'Ulaganayagan' Kamal Haasan could be released, which would undoubtedly be the icing on the cake for Vijay's fans everywhere considering there has been a big buzz about the upcoming film being a part of the Lokesh Kanagaraj Universe (LCU).

Ever since the LCU was first coined after a connection for Karthi's Kaithi (2019) was established in Kamal Haasan's Vikram (2022), the expectations for Leo too have been huge as many look forward to the Vijay-starrer being a part of the same franchise. Lokesh Kanagaraj has been quiet about the LCU ever since it was revealed that he, Vijay and Anirudh were collaborating for the second time after the phenomenal success of their Master (2021) and the wait will now be on for what the team has in store next. Leo will see Vijay sharing screen space alongside an ensemble star cast that includes Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, Mysskin, Gautham Menon, Priya Anand, Mansoor Ali Khan, Sandy master, Mathew Thomas among others, and is scheduled for a worldwide October 19 theatrical release.
