S. J. Suryah opens up on his massive upcoming film lineup, reveals a special project in development - is he hinting at Thalapathy 68?

S j suryah opens up on his upcoming film lineup bommai mark antony jigarthanda doublex game changer - Tamil Movie Cinema News

S. J. Suryah's long-awaited Bommai is coming out in theatres today and features him once again in the lead role after his sensational performance in the mystery crime thriller web series Vadhandhi: The Fable of Velonie released last year on Amazon Prime Video. Currently one of the busiest stars in Tamil cinema, he recently sat down with National Award-winning film critic Baradwaj Rangan, the Editor-in-Chief of Galatta Plus, to talk about his upcoming film lineup, while also revealing that he has two special projects up ahead.

Speaking about how many films he has in his hand at present, S. J. Suryah said, "Taking into consideration all the projects in various stages of development, and that includes the ones that are about to release, Bommai is coming out first, followed by Mark Antony, Jigarthanda 2, and then Game Changer. Among them, I play the lead in one and am acting as a villain in another. I am also playing a special villain in one of these projects and appearing alongside another hero in one more film." He added, "Apart from these, I'm also attached to two special projects, which I cannot speak about at this point. So, as of now, I'm involved in six projects. I'm going to be busy till December this year and will begin shooting for one film in October. I have a tight schedule till April next year."

S. J. Suryah's latest statement makes us wonder if one of the special projects he's hinting at is Tamil superstar Vijay's next after Leo, the recently-announced Thalapathy 68 under Venkat Prabhu's direction featuring music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. For a while now, social media has been abuzz with speculations that the Bommai actor will likely be seen in the Vijay-starrer being produced under the prestigious AGS Entertainment banner. Although no official announcement has been made regarding S. J. Suryah's casting in Thalapathy 68, the Jigarthanda DoubleX actor's words will no doubt add to the excitement and we will have to wait and see the developments in the days ahead. It is to be noted that S. J. Suryah's Bommai co-star Priya Bhavani Shankar in a recent interview with Galatta revealed the filmmaker-actor to be a part of Kamal Haasan's Indian 2

S. J. Suryah will be seen in Mark Antony alongside Vishal, followed by Jigarthanda DoubleX with Raghava Lawrence under Karthik Subbaraj's direction coming out this Diwali in November and RRR star Ram Charan's Telugu-Tamil bilingual Game Changer being directed by Shankar. Thalapathy 68, on the other hand, is expected to roll into production in the months ahead after Vijay completes his Leo, which is scheduled to open in cinemas worldwide on October 19. If S. J. Suryah indeed joins Vijay's Thalapathy 68, it will be the second time he will be collaborating with Venkat Prabhu after the 2021 blockbuster Maanaadu, which had Silambarasan TR in the lead role.
