Samantha pens an emotional note as she completes one year of her myositis diagnosis - Tamil Movie Cinema News

Leading South Indian actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu penned a heartfelt statement on Thursday looking back at her journey in the past year since being diagnosed with the autoimmune disease Myositis. . Revealing that it has been a "year of forced new normal", the actress wrote about how her body has gone through several big health battles while adding that it has been a time of "meaning, reflection and introspection", including dealing with setbacks on the professional front. Sharing photos and videos on Instagram from her visit to the Church of Saint Sava in Belgrade, Serbia, Samantha wrote, "It’s been one year since the diagnosis. A year of forced new normal. Many battles with my body… no salt, sugar or grains with a cocktail of meds for main course, forced shut downs and forced restarts. A year of seeking meaning, reflection and introspection. Of professional failures too… to make things more interesting☺️ A year of prayers and poojas… not praying for blessings and gifts… but praying to just find strength and peace. (sic)"

Explaining further about how she has handled herself during the course of the time, Samantha added, "A year that has taught me that not everything goes your way all the time. And more importantly, that it’s ok when it doesn’t. That I must control the controllables, let go off the rest, and keep moving forward one step at a time. That sometimes it’s not about grand successes, but that functioning forward is in itself a win. That I mustn’t sit around waiting for things to be perfect again or wallowing in the past. That I must hang on to love and those I love… and not give hate the power to affect me. There will be so many of you fighting far harder battles. I pray for you too. The gods may delay, but they never deny. They never deny peace, love, joy and strength to those who seek it. The only things worth seeking. (sic)"

On the work front, Samantha has several promising projects in development in various stages of development starting with Kushi opposite Vijay Deverakonda. The Telugu rom-com is a pan-Indian venture releasing in Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada languages and is scheduled to open in theatres on September 1. Samantha is next set to debut in Bollywood alongside Ayushmann Khurrana in a film being produced by Dinesh Vijan under the Maddock Films banner. The Super Deluxe actress is also a part of the upcoming international project, Chennai Story, a film adaptation of the best-selling novel The Arrangements of Love, under Batfa Award-winning director Philip John. Furthermore, Samantha will be seen in the Indian installment of the upcoming espionage action series, Citadel, created by Avengers: Endgame directors Russo Brothers' AGBO for Amazon Prime Video. She will share screen space with Bollywood star Varun Dhawan in the series being directed by filmmakers Raj Nidimoru & Krishna DK of The Family Man fame.
