The long wait for 'Ulaganayagan' Kamal Haasan's fans has finally come to an end as the much-awaited Indian 2 - an intro has now been released. The highly-anticipated film directed by blockbuster Tamil filmmaker Shankar and featuring songs and a background score composed by 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander is currently in the post-production phase, with the work progressing in a steady manner. With various posters being released as part of the promotions so far, a glimpse from Indian 2 in Tamil has now been released by 'Superstar' Rajinikanth on Friday, November 3, ahead of Kamal Haasan's birthday next week on November 7.
The Indian 2 - an intro video starts off showing the final scene from Indian (1996) and Kamal Haasan as Senapathy calling from Hong Kong and reminding Inspector Krishnasamy portrayed by the late Malayalam actor Nedumudi Venu. The visuals then fast forward to 2023 giving audiences a glimpse at the corruption across the country, with S J Suryah, Siddharth, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Rakul Preet Singh, Bobby Simha, Samuthirakani, Gulshan Grover, Brahmanandam, Delhi Ganesh, and late actors Nedumudi Venu, Vivek and Manobala also featured. The Indian 2 - an intro video is focused primarily on the people of the country calling for Indian aka. Senapathy to make a comeback, with Kamal Haasan appearing towards the end in his Indian National Army (INA) attire beside the portrait of freedom fighter Subhas Chandra Bose. There are several grand scenes, including one that shows a song sequence and it remains to be seen if Kajal Aggarwal is featured in it considering the person around whom the visuals are centered is quite far away.
The Indian 2 intro has shown that the film will be set in our digital age and hints in a big way as to what fans are in store for in 2024 when the film opens in cinemas worldwide. Apart from its Tamil version, the Indian 2 intro has also been released in Hindi by Aamir Khan, followed by the Telugu version by blockbuster director S. S. Rajamouli, with acclaimed actor Mohanlal unveiling it in Malayalam, while Kichcha Sudeep has done the honors in Kannada.
