Hindi television actress Uorfi Javed, known for her bold fashion choices, is in the news again. Known for her appearances on reality TV shows like Bigg Boss OTT (Season 1) and MTV Splitsvilla (season 14), a video of the popular star being taken by alleged police officials is now doing the rounds on social media. In a video posted by a paparazzo, Uorfi was spotted at a cafe in Mumbai on Friday, November 3, where she was confronted by a male police officer and two female cops, who asked her to come along with them to the chowki (police station).
Uorfi is then seen asking the officer for the reason, who questions her,"Itne chote chote kapde kaun pehenke subah kaun ghum rahi ho?" (Translation: Where are you roaming in the morning wearing such short clothes?) The Bigg Boss OTT star, who is seen wearing a backless red top with a pair of denim pants, then questions back asking how can she be taken into custody for her clothes, with the female police official informing her that the matter can be further discussed in the police station. As of now, there is no clarity on whether the incident is true or a publicity gimmick as the reaction on social media has been mixed, with a statement awaited from Uorfi's side.
Recently, Uorfi made headlines for her Halloween costume, which saw her recreate Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav's Chhote Pandit look from Akshay Kumar's Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007), which he once again reprised in Kartik Aaryan's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (2022). The reality TV star revealed on Instagram earlier this week that she received death threats for recreating the look, which saw her painting her face read and wearing an orange dhoti and a red top along with a marigold garland around her neck. Uorfi, who has appeared on Hindi TV shows like Chandra Nandini and Daayan, took to Instagram and wrote, "Rajpal yadav se kisi ko koi problem nahi hua but maine jab ye look recreate liya toh sabko mujhse problem hai . I’ve received so many death threats , rape threats for no reason . All these so called dharm k rakshak suddenly woke up after I wore this outfit 10 years of bhool Bhulaiya movie ! No color belongs to any religion , no agarbatti belongs to any religion , no flower belongs to any religion ." (sic)
