Fahadh Faasil and Aparna Balamurali of Soorarai Pottru will be starring together in a new film titled Dhoomam which was officially announced last week, much to the surprise of the fans. That being said, the film was launched this morning (October 9) with a formal pooja in the presence of the main cast and crew and pictures from the launch event have turned viral on social media. Dhoomam will be originally shot in Malayalam and Kannada while it will also have a dubbed release in Tamil and Telugu. This new film will be helmed by acclaimed Kannada director Pawan Kumar who has films like Lucia and U Turn to his credit.

Poorna Chandra Tejaswi who has been a regular part of Pawan Kumar's movies will be composing the music for Dhoomam, while the cinematography is handled by well known Tamil DOP, Preetha Jayaraman. The young and talented Roshan Mathew will be playing a pivotal character in this thriller drama. Achyuth Kumar, Joy Mathew, Dev Mohan, Nandhu, and Anu Mohan are also a part of the star cast. The film has already set high expectations for the film buffs and an exciting treat awaits fans. Dhoomam will be produced by the leading production banner Hombale Films, best known for producing Yash's KGF, KGF 2, and the recent Kannada hit, Kantara.

Planned to be extensively shot in Karnataka and Kerala, this film is scheduled for a theatrical release in summer 2023. Fahadh Faasil and Aparna Balamurali have already shared screen space in the critically acclaimed hit film, Maheshinte Prathikaram and the successful duo reunites after 7 long years for Dhoomam. Fahadh Faasil was last seen in the survival thriller, Malayankunju, which had music composed by A.R.Rahman. Apart from Dhoomam, Fahadh is also a part of Paachuvum Albhuthavilakkum, Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2, and many other exciting projects.
