Samantha rocked the nation with the hit song Oo Antava Oo Oo Antava from the pan-Indian film Pushpa: The Rise which was released back on 17 December 2021. The song has been phenomenally successful ever since then and has not seemed to be slacking in any way at all. Being her first item song in a career spanning 12 years, she gave it her all which resulted in this sizzling piece of art to trend almost instantly, and the love and hype around it are still the same as it was when it was first released. 

It has been nearly 8 months and the song is still going strong. So strong that Oo Antava Oo Oo Antava is currently the most listened to Telugu song on Amazon Prime Music. The Samantha starrer sizzling number has completely taken over and for good reasons. Aditya Music made the announcement of this tremendous feat through their official Twitter handle. The song comes from the action drama Pushpa: The Rise which was written and directed by Sukumar. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers in association with Muttamsetty Media, it stars Allu Arjun as the eponymous character alongside Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil, making his Telugu debut, while Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari, Sunil, Rao Ramesh, Dhananjaya, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Ajay, and Ajay Ghosh play supporting roles. The first of two cinematic parts, the film depicts the rise of a coolie in the smuggling syndicate of red sandalwood, a rare wood that grows only in the Seshachalam Hills of Andhra Pradesh state.

  The pan-Indian film was released in Telugu along with dubbed versions in Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, and Kannada languages, and opened to rave reviews from fans and critics alike. They praised Allu Arjun's performance, action sequences, direction, and score which was done by Devi Sri Prasad. The film emerged as the highest-grossing Indian film in 2021 and ranks among the highest-grossing Telugu films of all time. 

Its upcoming sequel titled Pushpa 2: The Rule is currently under production.
