Maamannan is the next big film of Mari Selvaraj of Karnan and Pariyerum Perumal fame. The film with Udhayanidhi Stalin and 'Vaigai Puyal' Vadivelu in lead roles was released in theatres worldwide on June 29 and has become the topic of discussion among movie buffs and fans. The popular director turned actor Ameer has shared his views of the film. Addressing the press and media the director said he will not accept that Mari Selvaraj is creating a religious riots with the film Maamannan. He then explained that the people from that social background are expressing the pain that they suffered for over 2,000 years through cinema. He said many films over the years has spoke about Dravidianism, Periyarism and other ideologies and Tamil Nadu stands top in this in India. He further said "all that matters is if the people accept it or not."
As a reporter asked about the uncut version of Vada Chennai that Santhosh Narayana spoke about in a recent interview, the director said “he(Vetri Maaran) had shown new that footage too, But I think he had other commitments and hasn't started working on it." The awkward-winning filmmaker is known for making critically acclaimed films like Raam and Paruthiveeran he had also acted in a hand full of hit films including Vada Chennai and Maaran. The next film of the actor has release announced with Yuvan Shankar Rama Music that Mayavalai, The film will be helmed By Ramesh Balakrishna with the director playing lead and an exacting supporting cats that includes Sathya and actress Sanjitha Shetty.
Apart from director Ameer many other prominent members of film industry have shared their praises about Maamannan.
