Maamannan art director explains set details for mari selvaraj film udhayanidhi stalin - Tamil Movie Cinema News

Udhayanidhi Stalin's last film was titled Maamannan and was helmed by Mari Selvaraj. The film was released two days ago and has made headlines for the plot of the political drama. Galatta Media, One of the leading online media organisations, did a special interview with the art director of Maamannan, Kumar. He shared some exciting insights about the making of the sets for the film. The art director first explained the Adimurai set that was made in two Storey. And then he explained the Maamannan house set. The house of 'Vaigai Puyal' Vadivelu which was decoded by movie buffs from the release of the trailer.

Speaking about Maamannan house set, the art director said he first made the house in 3D and showed it to the director for approval. The art director said "in the story it will call as Ayya’s house and he would give it to Udhayanidhi sir". We thought there was not much story needed for that. He then explained that they went to Salem and got the idea for the design and added some important elements were big pillars in the house and a indestructible front door. Talking about the sword seen in the film, he said they show three versions and the director picked one "after filming Mari Selvaraj took home the sword as a memoir”. He then said “We worked very hard for the house because there was unexpected rains and we had to manage some leakage because of it." Kumar said the made the house in 18 days and costs over Rs.85 lakhs and the director instructed the house must be very minimal.

The art director then revealed the different looks that the Maamannan crew tried on actors Udhayanidhi Stalin, Fahad Faasil and 'Vaigai Puyal' Vaduvelu for the film. Kumar then said the director Mari Selvaraj wanted to make it look natural. The film is running successfully in theatres and has music composed by A.R. Rahman.
