The excitement surrounding Prabhas' Kalki 2898-AD, formerly called Project K, isn't going to go down any time soon as the expectations for the highly-anticipated big-budget sci-fi Telugu film shot up after its first visuals debuted at the San Diego Comic-Con 2023 in July. The highly-anticipated big-budget science-fiction film being directed by Nag Ashwin under the prestigious Vyjayanthi Movies banner and featuring music by Tamil composer Santhosh Narayanan created history by becoming the first ever Indian venture to debut at the popular global entertainment event when it took over Hall H, which saw Prabhas appear alongside his co-star and iconic Tamil actor Kamal Haasan, producers C. Aswani Dutt, Swapna Dutt, and Priyanka Dutt, including actor Rana Daggubati, with legendary Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan joining them via Zoom.
With the Kalki 2898-AD glimpse still the talk of the town, Vyjayanthi Movies on Wednesday, August 2, released a new video of the proceedings at the SDCC 2023 and giving fans an additional insight into the film's journey from its inception as Project K. This latest video offers an up-close look at the celebrations amidst thousands of screaming fans at Hall H, who are seen welcoming the film's team before the first visuals debut to thunderous applause. The most memorable moment featured in the video is undoubtedly when producer Aswani Dutt says, "It took 50 years of my hard work to reach Amitji, Kamalji, and my friend Prabhas'', while gently patting the Salaar actor's back, with the audience and the vast media entourage cheering the team on with claps.
The one-minute and thirty seconds video perfectly captures the rapturous elation for the journey from Project K to Kalki 2898-AD and is one that will no doubt hit you in the feels leaving you wanting for more of the glorious spectacle in full, which is scheduled to open in cinemas worldwide on January 12, 2024.
