The wait is officially over as the highly-anticipated Jailer trailer is out now finally and shows 'Superstar' Rajinikanth in prime action once again after nearly two years since his Annaatthe (2021). Directed by blockbuster filmmaker Nelson Dilipkumar under the prestigious Sun Pictures banner and featuring music composed by 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander, the new extended visuals of the upcoming mass entertainer have now been unveiled in a showcase trailer giving audiences a glimpse of the massive action that awaits everyone in cinemas starting August 10.

The Jailer showcase starts off showcasing Rajinikanth as a humble family man living a retired life, who is also father to police officer Vasanth Ravi of Taramani and Rocky fame.  From serving the needs of his family among whom include Ramya Krishnan playing his wife, Mirna Menon as his daughter-in-law, and grandson Rithvik, the trailer gives us a glimpse of 'Superstar' as an unassertive person, who is looking to be the best support for the people around him. The Jailer showcase, which also gives audiences a look at the various supporting characters like Yogi Babu, Pushpa fame Suneel, VTV Ganesh, and Saravanan, reveals the big confrontation between Rajinikanth and Mariyan antagonist Vinayakan, who is out for blood, with Bollywood star Jackie Shroff also leaving a big impression. The film's trailer shows Rajinikanth as a simple man, whose transformation into a roaring tiger, although not too big, is undoubtedly a big treat, with a hint of Nelson Dilipkumar's special touch.

With the focus of the Jailer showcase primarily centered around Rajinikanth's characterization, it comes as icing on the cake when he dons the khakhi as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian to step into prime action mode as a police officer leaving us wanting for more. Despite not being featured in the trailer, the film stars several big names starting with Kannada superstar Dr. Shivarajkumar, iconic Malayalam actor Mohanlal, Tamannaah in pivotal roles, while Jaffer Sadiq, Kishore, Billy Muralee, Sugunthan, Karate Karthi, Mithun, Arshad, Marimuthu, Namo Narayana, Ananth, Aranthaangi Nisha, Mahanadi Shankar, and Kalai Arasan too will be making appearances as well.

Jailer marks Rajinikanth's fourth collaboration with Sun Pictures after Enthiran (2010), Petta (2019), and Annaatthe (2021) and the iconic actor will be coming out firing on all cylinders to deliver yet another memorable film for the illustrious production-distribution banner. The buzz for the much-awaited biggie has been getting bigger each day, with the response to the songs already a testimony to the stupendous expectations surrounding the film. Jailer is an important film for both Rajinikanth and Nelson Dilipkumar, who will be looking to hit the bullseye this time after each of their previous films, Annaatthe and Beast (2022), received a mixed response despite turning out to be phenomenal box office successes.
