Recently, a section of media reported that Chiyaan Vikram has been approached to play the antagonist in Telugu Super Star Mahesh Babu's upcoming next, SSMB 28, with director Trivikram Srinivas and the news garnered wide attention on social media. It was also added that Vikram is likely to take up the role. However, the speculation turns out to be a baseless report. Vikram's manager, Surya Narayanan took to his official Twitter page to make an important clarification regarding the speculation. Informing that Vikram is not a part of Mahesh Babu's film, he requested the media houses to clarify before carrying reports.

Surya Narayanan's clarification statement read, "Dear friends, #ChiyaanVikram is not part of any project with @urstrulyMahesh. Rumours circulating regarding this are baseless. I request media houses to pls clarify with us before publishing such news. Regards". This clarification will now end the speculations that have been surfacing on social media since yesterday. Chiyaan Vikram was last seen in the recently released film, Mahaan, which has opened to a fairly positive response from the audience.
