Ace director Shankar's debut film, Gentleman, which featured Action King Arjun and Madhubala in the lead roles, is all set to get its sequel and the film is currently in its nascent stages. KT Kunjumon, the producer of Gentleman, has planned a second part and the finalisation of the cast and crew members are happening in full swing. Shankar is not associated with this sequel which will be helmed by another filmmaker and KT Kunjumon is said to be looking at a few probable options. Meanwhile, the makers have finalised the music director of Gentleman 2 and the announcement regarding the same is out.

Legendary composer MM Keeravani (credited as Maragathamani in Tamil) will be scoring music for Gentleman 2, produced by KT Kunjumon. According to reports, the duo met recently and their meeting ended on a positive note, thereby Keeravani signing on the dotted lines. MM Keeravani has been the music director for Rajamouli's films including blockbuster hits like Baahubali, Baahubali 2, Naan E (Eega), and Magadheera. Keeravani has also delivered chartbuster hit songs for Rajamouli's upcoming magnum opus, RRR which has Ram Charan and Jr NTR in the lead roles.

Gentleman had music by A.R.Rahman whose songs still sound fresh attaining the cult status. In the place of Rahman, we have Keeravani who will be taking care of the music of Gentleman 2. After finalising the director soon, the makers will make announcements regarding the central cast and crew of the movie. The film is expected to go on floors in the latter half of this year. Gentleman is an important film in Tamil cinema and it is indeed going to be a challenging task for the makers to live up to the hype.

With music by A.R.Rahman and cinematography by Jeeva, Gentleman's star cast featured Arjun, Madhubala, Subhashri, MN Nambiar, Manorama, Goundamani, Senthil, Charan Raj, Vineeth, Ajay Rathnam, and others and the film turned out to be a blockbuster hit at the box office.
