Aval Peyar Tamilarasi music review

Aval Peyar Tamilarasi has nine songs with three bit songs. Music director Vijay Anthony has tried the folk genre for the first time in this film with a village backdrop. It recounts the story of a young man who goes in search of his childhood love.

First comes 'Aaraaro Aariraro', a typical folk number penned by debutant Ekadasi and rendered by Valappakkudi Veera Shankar. This song, expressing love, pain and anger, is one of the longest in the album. The slow pace throughout raises expectations.

'Gujju Gujju' is a peppy and childlike song rendered by Nancy Sylvia; the kids' chorus in the beginning is interesting. The lyrics penned by Ekadasi have a happy feeling. 'Kelthana Rangubhai' with some inspiration from the North,is rendered by Malgudi Subha. It has a steady pace throughout and the arrangements of rhythms ischarming.

'Madathula Olivilakka' wonderfully sung by Valappakkudi Veera Sankar is of typical folk style; its lyrics express the pain in loss of love and life. A short, touching number with apt lyrics.

'Nee Otha Sollu' is one of the chart toppers rendered by Ranjith and Nidha. The song is a very charming number similar to tunes of the 80s. The flute interludes are a delight to hear.

'Othaiyadi Paadhaiyile' is a short and simple number. Valappakkudi Veera Shankar has sung it in his throaty voice. 'Palayankottai' is yet an another folksy tune penned by Na. Muthukumar and by Vijay Antony himself. A very simple number and the tune sounds very familiar. Vineeth Srinivasan, after capturinghearts in Mollywood, makes his debut in Tamil with 'Vadakka Thekka'. Vineeth has sung this song expressing the anger and pain of separation with ease.

'Yethanayo Kadha Undu' is in the style of a Villuppaatu (a traditional Tamil folk play) rendered by Madhumitha and Mahalakshmi. It is in a story format with riddles and peppy numbers in between.
