Ajith Kumar's Thunivu continues to be the talk of the town and is now one of the top three most-watched films globally after its premiere on Netflix last week (February 6-February 12). Zee Studios announced on Wednesday, February 15, the latest big development on social media, while also informing that the mass action thriller directed by H. Vinoth has also featured in the top 10 list on the global streaming giant's platform across 13 countries. Zee Studios wrote on Twitter, "Thunivu is among the top-3 most watched films globally in the non-English category last week on Netflix." The production banner, which co-produced Thunivu with Boney Kapoor's Bayview Projects LLP, added that the film "is also on TOP 10 on Netflix across 13 countries globally - India, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritius, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Singapore, Sri Lanka and United Arab Emirates." Thunivu, which was released in theatres as a grand Pongal treat on January 11, has been receiving a positive response on streaming as well and fans have been sharing their views on social media after noticing more new details in the plot. This latest feedback is the icing on the cake for the film's team as it has also done phenomenal business in its theatrical run, which is still going strong. Considering Netflix is the biggest streaming platform in the world and Thunivu getting released in multiple languages, the makers will no doubt be mighty happy with the appreciation being showered upon the Ajith-starrer.
Released across Tamil Nadu by Red Giant Movies, Ajith's Thunivu also stars Manju Warrier as the female lead, while Samuthirakani, John Kokken, Mohana Sundaram, Ajay Kumar, Veera, G. M. Sundar, Prem Kumar, Darshan, Bagavathi Perumal, Mahanadi Shankar, Bala Saravanan, Chirag Jani, Amir, Pavani Reddy, Ciby Bhuvana Chandran, Mamathi Chari, A. L. Azhagappan are appearing in pivotal roles. Composer Ghibran has done his part amicably well with the three songs and the power-packed background score in the film, which incidentally is the landmark 50th venture in his career.
