It looks like the long wait is all set to come to an end for Ajith Kumar's fans everywhere as a big announcement for the Tamil superstar's next film, the tentatively titled AK 62, might well be on its way. Ahead of the leading Tamil actor's birthday on Monday, May 1, there is a strong buzz doing the rounds that an announcement regarding the upcoming film's much-awaited title will be out sometime later today. Being produced under the Lyca Productions banner, there are reports that the highly-anticipated AK 62 title will be announced tomorrow as a special birthday treat for Ajith's fans.
AK 62 was first announced last year by Lyca Productions making it their first-time producing an Ajith venture after they distributed the actor's Thunivu overseas earlier this year, with the mass action heist film turning out to be a phenomenal box office success. The prestigious production-distribution banner announced their project with blockbuster filmmaker Vignesh Shivan as the director and chart-buster composer Anirudh Ravichander as the music director. However, Vignesh Shivan has since parted ways and it has been revealed that Magizh Thirumeni of Thadam fame will be directing AK 62, while Anirudh is still a part of the project, with the title announcement expected to come out tomorrow with their names as well included.
Ajith Kumar's fans have been waiting for AK 62 to roll into production since it was green-lit last year and all sights will now be set on the title announcement and the beginning of the physical production. Expectations for the film are massive, especially after the stellar response to Thunivu, which went on to witness a huge opening day when it came out in cinemas as a grand Pongal treat in January. No further details regarding AK 62 are known as yet and it remains to be seen whether the title announcement will also reveal the rest of the cast and crew of the film, which will likely kick-off once Ajith returns from his bike tour in Nepal.
