Aadhi out of Rakta Charitra

Contrary to earlier reports that popular actor Aadhi of Mirugam fame was roped in to play the role of rebel-turned politician Paritala Ravi in the Tamil and Telugu versions of renowned Ram Gopal Varma's bilingual Rakta Charitra, it is now heard that the actor has been eliminated from the project after the filmmaker decided to cast Vivek Oberoi in all versions of the film. Vivek Oberoi was earlier supposed to play Paritala Ravi in the Hindi version alone.

"Yes, it’s true that I have signed a deal with Aadhi, but for another film that will take off later. As of now, Vivek Oberoi and Suriya will don the lead roles in all three versions: Hindi, Tamil and Telugu," Ram Gopal Varma was quoted as saying. Since Aadhi was overwhelmed with this big project, it is also heard he had refused nearly 7-8 offers in Kollywood.

Suriya's role in the flick is of Maddalcheruvu Suri, Paritala Ravi’s opponent. Yesteryears Bollywood hero Shatrughan Sinha will play the role of late Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao (NTR) in the Hindi version. Telugu actor Mohan Babu will be seen as NTR in the Telugu version. The film will start shooting soon in Hyderabad.
