Lady Superstar Nayanthara and director Vignesh Shivan recently acquired the production and distribution rights of a Tamil film titled Koozhangal and the announcement regarding the same was made yesterday (December 22). The duo, in their official statement, mentioned, “There are certain days that become precious and valuable when we come across a film that makes us proud of the field we are associated with. One such moment was watching a beautiful movie 'Kuzhaangkal', which marks the directorial debut of PS Vinod Raj. The film's premise is as simple as the title but created an exquisitely loveable impact within. Koozhaangkal didn't steal our attention for a spellbinding performance of new actors and technical crew but stirred our souls with adorable background score by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

Such an experience instantly instilled in us the excitement to not just present the film theatrically, but also take it towards International film festivals and take over the entire production as well. We are proud to present this film for you in the hope that it will make an impact on you as well. Sincerely, Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan.".

As mentioned above, the makers have started to send the films to several International film festivals and as a beginning, the film has been selected for the Tiger Competition in the 50th International Film Festival Rotterdam 2021. This is indeed a big start for the makers of Koozhangal as the film has managed to enter the prestigious Rotterdam Film Festival and let us hope that the film wins it big. Ahead of the festival screening, the trailer of Koozhangal has been released now and it has garnered a good reception from cinema lovers.

The very first shot of Koozhangal’s trailer tells you that this film is going to be very unique in many ways. The treatment looks subtle and raw and it looks like director Vinoth Raj has decided to bring out the emotions neatly through some rooted characters. The trailer introduces us to two important characters in the film and a young boy is beaten up by a man who could be his father. Director Vinoth Raj and team have presented one single scene as a trailer and it looks impressive. From what we see in this trailer, it looks like Koozhangal will be a critically acclaimed quality film on the lines of Merku Thodarchi Malai, etc.

The film is set in a rural village and a bunch of new actors have played the lead roles. Yuvan Shankar Raja’s soulful music is definitely going to elevate the mood of the film to a different level. The film will hit the screens in Tamil Nadu after finishing the film festival journey.
