Horror films enjoy a massive following around the world and The Conjuring Universe franchise is no exception as the films that have come out so far have elevated its popularity making it a successful money-spinning juggernaut. In that light, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, coming to theaters and streaming exclusively on HBO Max from June 4, is a sequel to 2013's The Conjuring and 2016's The Conjuring 2, and is the eighth installment overall in the Conjuring Universe franchise. Directed by Michael Chaves, with a screenplay by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick based on a story written by Johnson-McGoldrick and James Wan, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It or The Conjuring 3 as is being called by fans has Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga reprising their roles as paranormal investigators and authors Ed and Lorraine Warren. 

The plot of The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It revolves around the trial of Arne Cheyenne Johnson, a murder trial that took place in 1981 in Connecticut. Jointly produced by New Line Cinema, The Safran Company and Atomic Monster Productions, promotions are already underway for the film by Warner Bros. Pictures, with a trailer and several intense promos released so far. Now, WB has released a featurette on The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It and the process involved in getting the film made.

One of the most sensational cases from their files, it starts with a fight for the soul of a young boy, then takes them beyond anything they'd ever seen before, to mark the first time in U.S. history that a murder suspect would claim demonic possession as a defense."
