As reported earlier, Suriya and director Gautham Vasudev Menon have joined hands for Mani Ratnam’s upcoming production, Navarasa, an anthology film/series, that will be released on Netflix soon. Earlier this week, the shooting of this short film began and legendary cinematographer PC Sreeram took care of the visuals. Also, Sreeram regularly shared interesting BTS pictures and updates from the shooting spot and it made the fans happy. The latest important update is that the shooting of this short film has now been completely wrapped up.

Being a short, Gautham Menon and team wrapped up the entire shoot in just five days. It was a continuous 5 day shoot which was wrapped last night in Chennai. The pictures from the shooting spot featuring Suriya, Gautham Menon and PC Sreeram are now doing rounds on social media. Suriya, in one of his earlier interviews, revealed that he would be sporting his current look for the film and it is going to be an interesting watch. Suriya is riding high on the massive success of his recent release, Soorarai Pottru and Navarasa will be his next release. Suriya and Gautham Menon have already worked together in two blockbuster hits, Kaakha Kaakha and Vaaranam Aayiram and this untitled short in Navarasa marks their third outing. They are also expected to join hands for a full-fledged feature film after Suriya completes his current commitments.

Talking about Navarasa, it will be an anthology of 9 stories and each story will be a depiction of a rasa. 9 leading and talented filmmakers from the Tamil film industry have been assigned to direct each story and the names include Gautham Vasudev Menon, KV Anand, Karthik Subbaraj, Halitha Shameem, Ponram, Karthick Naren, Rathindran R Prasad, Bejoy Nambiar, and Arvind Swami (in his directorial debut). This anthology witness some of the leading stars including Arvind Swami, Siddharth, Vijay Sethupathi, Prakash Raj, Saravanan, Azhagam Perumal, Prasanna, Vikranth, Gautham Karthik, Bobby Simha, Ashok Selvan, Revathy, Nithya Menen, Aishwarya Rajesh, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Poorna, Riythvika, and others.

The project involves 8 music directors and it includes AR Rahman, D Imman, Ghibran, Aruldev, Karthik, Ron Ethan Yohann, Govind Vasantha and Justin Prabhakaran. Navarasa is a project that has been mounted for a noble cause - the entire revenue of the film will completely be donated to the FEFSI and daily wage workers in the Tamil film industry who were badly affected during the initial months of intense lockdown due to Covid-19.
