Sai Pallavi has garnered a huge fan following since her official debut in the coming of age Malayalam romantic film Premam. Post the success of  the 2015 blockbuster, the actress became a household name across South India and has also appeared in Tamil films like Diya, Maari 2 opposite Dhanush, including Suriya's NGK. In the meantime, Sai Pallavi's younger sister Pooja Kannan too is all set to make her Tamil cinema debut in the upcoming film, Chithirai Sevvaanam, which also marks the directorial debut of popular action choreographer Stunt Silva.

Chithirai Sevvaanam has National Award-winning actor-director Samuthirakani in the lead role and will be premiering on the ZEE5 Tamil OTT platform on December 3. Being presented by director A. L. Vijay's Think Big Studio, the film has been produced by Amirtha Studios Private Limited and also stars popular Malayalam actress Rima Kallingal, with music by Sam C.S. and lyrics penned by 'Kaviperarasu' Vairamuthu. It is to be noted that 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi had referred to Chithirai Sevvaanam as being Tamil Nadu State Award winner Stunt Silva's directorial debut during the audio launch of 'Thalapathy' Vijay's Master last year without directly mentioning the film's title and wished him the best for the next big phase in his career.

The Chithirai Sevvaanam release announcement poster shows Samuthirakani and Pooja Kannan on a cycle as father and daughter and the film looks to be an emotional ride. Sai Pallavi has often spoken in high regards of her sister and it will be interesting to watch her prove her mettle as an actor in Chithirai Sevvaanam. Pooja had previously worked as an assistant to director AL Vijay and acted in a short film titled Kaara that was released in 2017. As for Samuthirakani, this will be his second big direct ZEE5 OTT release after the sci-fi fantasy family drama Vinodhaya Sitham
