Sivakarthikeyan's next film, Don, kicked off production on Thursday in Coimbatore after a formal pooja, which saw the actor taking part in the proceedings along with the rest of the cast and crew. Touted to be a fun entertainer catering especially to the youth audience, the upcoming film's shooting began at the KPR College in Coimbatore, with the first schedule set to carry forward at the location for the next few weeks. Being produced by Lyca Productions in association with SK Productions, Don marks the directorial debut of Cibi Chakravarthi, a former associate of Atlee, with the makers now releasing the pooja video of the film, which shows Sivakarthikeyan alongside female lead Priyanka Arul Mohan filming an important sequence in the popular college campus. 

Shooting on Don has begun with the team adhering to all COVID-19 norms and protocols as we can see crew members wearing face masks during filming, with Cibi Chakravarthi calling the shots and Sivakarthikeyan appearing apparently as a college student. Don includes an impressive team starting with the star cast that includes Priyanka Mohan, who has become a youth sensation across South India and will incidentally be her second big role opposite Sivakarthikeyan after their Doctor, which will be releasing in theatres worldwide on March 26. Don also includes SJ Suryah in a pivotal role, with the film's plot revolving between him and Sivakarthikeyan. Furthermore, the film's supporting cast also features names like Samuthirakani, Soori, Bala Saravanan, Munishkanth Ramadoss, RJ Vijay, including Cooku with Comali and Super Singer fame Sivaangi.

On the technical front, Don has 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander composing the music, who has proven to be a big USP in Sivakarthikeyan's films. The film will also see cinematography by Vallinam and Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal fame KM Bhaskaran, with editing being done by Nagooran and Anu Parthasarathy coming on board as the costume designer after previously working with Sivakarthikeyan in Remo, Velaikkaran and Seema Raja. As of now, no release date has been finalized for Don, but is being planned to come out in theatres in the second half of this year.
