Sivaangi has become a huge sensation among the youth and the elderly alike across Tamil Nadu after her antics on the hit Vijay TV cooking reality show, Cooku with Comali season 2, which is also enjoying phenomenal viewership on the Hotstar streaming app. Her presence on the show has turned out to be a major USP and is one currently one of the most popular celebrities in the Tamil entertainment industry, having garnered a huge fan following. Prior to Cooku with Comali, Sivaangi had already made a big name by coming in as one among the finalists in Super Singer season 7.

Sivaangi, who has been on cloud nine for a while now, has now gotten more reason to cheer after the Tamil Nadu government on Friday released the Kalamamani Awardees list for 2019, 2020, which also included the names of her parents as winners. Sivaangi's mother Binny Krishnakumar has over the years made a name for herself on the Carnatic music circuit with her vocal skills and had also tried her hand at singing film songs as well. She is credited with having sung the chart-buster 'Ra Ra Sarasaku' song from the 'Superstar' Rajinikanth blockbuster, Chandramukhi, in 2005. Binny and Sivaangi's father Krishnakumar have now been featured on the Tamil Nadu government's list for the winners of the illustrious Kalaimamani Award, with fans and celebrities alike pouring in their wishes and congratulatory messages. Binny and Krishnakumar took to Instagram on Saturday to share the joyous news, while also posting a selfie of them both, which has since gone viral on social media. Check it out below:
