Suriya's Soorarai Pottru continues to be the talk of the town even after its premiere on Amazon Premiere Video on November 12 last year. Directed by Sudha Kongara, the film has been declared by many to be one of Suriya's best performances to date in his career and had completed 100 days of streaming earlier this week. Having garnered universal acclaim from fans and critics, Soorarai Pottru produced by Suriya's 2D Entertainment in association with Sikhya Entertainment and featuring chart-buster music G. V. Prakash Kumar, the makers began releasing never-before-seen scenes from the action drama.

On Saturday, 2D Entertainment dropped the second deleted scene from Soorarai Pottru featured on Suriya as Nedumaran Rajangam and his mother played by Urvashi. In the scene, we see Urvashi with the help of Kaali Venkat urging Suriya to agree for a marriage proposal from a girl named Annamayilu in their native. Although the scene isn't featured in the film, we see how it leads up to the next shot where Suriya eventually goes after the female lead Aparna Balamurali on his bike and pursues her for marriage. In Soorarai Pottru's final cut, we see Aparna in an auto promoting her bakery, with Suriya chasing her and the two laying out the groundwork for their future together.

Soorarai Pottru endured several obstacles prior to its release, just as the character Nedumaran Rajangam faced in the aviation industry in the film. The makers decided to skip a theatrical release due to the coronavirus pandemic, with the initial plan for its premiere on Amazon Prime Video announced for October 30, which got delayed for a couple of more weeks due to a delay in obtaining the No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Indian Air Force (IAF) as the film revolved extensively around aviation.

Praises have been coming in non-stop for the entire team of Soorarai Pottru, with fans continuing to rave about Suriya's thunderous performance. Sudha Kongara's direction and tight screenplay have also received massive laurels, including GV Prakash's electrifying musical score, with fans also complimenting Aparna Balamurali, who left a huge impression with her impactful performance. Similarly, veteran actress Urvashi has been flawless in her acting and Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal stunning in his Tamil film debut as the antagonist in the film, which also includes Telugu actor Mohan Babu, Vivek Prasanna, Karunas among others in pivotal roles. Dubbed in Telugu as Aakaasam Nee Haddhu Ra, Soorarai Pottru has been inspired from the life of Captain GR Gopinath, the founder of the Air Deccan airliner.
