Asuran - the much awaited fourth time collaboration between the National Award winning director-actor duo of Vettrimaaran & Dhanush is fast nearing its release date. Produced by Kalaippuli S Thanu under his V Creations banner, this movie is based on the hit Tamil novel Vekkai, written by novelist Poomani. There are quite high expectations for this movie as Dhanush and Vettrimaaran's earlier three collaborations - Aadukalam, Polladhavan and Vada Chennai, have all become blockbuster hits. It was announced earlier that the audio launch of Asuran would happen today and as promised, two songs from the movie have been released. The first single - 'Kathiri Poovazhagi' is a rustic folk song while the second single - 'Polladha Bhoomi' is an intense number!
The lyric video of this song was released online and the visuals show Dhanush in various action poses with Ken Karunas also seen alongside him in a few of them. The Asuran album has been composed by GV Prakash and the 'Polladha Bhoomi' song has been sung by Dhanush, GV Prakash, Ken Karunas and Tee Jay, for lyrics penned by Yugabharathi. Asuran, which stars Dhanush in dual roles for only the second time in his career - with the first being Kodi, is all set to hit the screens on October 4th, in time for the Aayudha Poojai holidays.
Velraj has cranked the camera for this movie, which has editing by R Ramar. Mollywood diva Manju Warrier is making her Kollywood debut with this movie which will also be the acting debut of director Balaji Sakthivel. Pasupathy, Ammu Abhirami, Ken Karunas, Subramania Siva, Pawan, Aadukalam Naren and a number of others form the rest of the cast. It is being reported that Dhanush is all set to take off to London, to begin filming for his next project with Karthik Subbaraj, which has been tentatively titled D40!
