One film that is scaling high in terms of excitement, Mani Ratnam’s upcoming action thriller, Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, has been announced to hit screens on September 28.

Promotions for CCV also being made as Nawab in Telugu has been in full throttle over the past few days with Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions revealing the character names of each of the film’s lead stars with the latest being STR today.

We here at Galatta at exclusively earlier today revealed Simbu’s character in Chekka Chivantha Vaanam is Ethiraj with the makers now going on to officially announce it as Ethi.

Furthermore, STR’s name will not be Ethi, but Rudra, in the Telugu version, Nawab, which also includes music by Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman and lyrics penned by Vairamuthu.

It must be noted the Rudra name became quite popular after Trisha, who played the antagonist in the 2016 smash hit, Kodi, was named the same opposite Dhanush in dual roles.

Chekka Chivantha Vaanam is Mani Ratnam’s 26th directorial and includes a multi-star cast featuring names like Vijay Sethupathi, Arvind Swami, Arun Vijay, Jyothika, Aishwarya Rajesh, Aditi Rao Hydari and model Dayana Erappa in lead roles.
