Vijay Sethupathi's 50th venture titled Maharaja is a landmark project for the leading Tamil actor and the film's much-awaited first look poster is now out. Directed by Nithilan Saminathan of Kurangu Bommai (2017) fame, the upcoming film generated massive interest right from the moment of its announcement, with the title reveal raising the curiosity among fans, and the new poster now spiking the eagerness further. Maharaja is billed to be an action film and will see Vijay Sethupathi sharing the screen with acclaimed Hindi filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, with the ensemble cast featuring Natarajan Subramaniam aka. Natty of Sathuranga Vettai and Karnan fame, Mamta Mohandas, Abhirami among others.
The Maharaja first look shows Vijay Sethupathi on a saloon chair, who is covered in blood stains from head to toe and is seen holding a machete. There's a bandage wrapped covering one of his ears, while there are several police officials in the background looking at him. The intense Maharaja first look gives audiences a glimpse into the film and how it will be dealing with crime, with the police also playing a crucial role in the proceedings of the narrative. Considering this is Vijay Sethupathi's 50th film in his illustrious career, the actor will no doubt be aiming for the bullseye and once again taste glory.

The Maharaja first look has been released at a time when Vijay Sethupathi is being talked about across the country after starring as the antagonist Kaali in Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's latest box office blockbuster Jawan. The success of Jawan for Vijay Sethupathi will add to the excitement for Maharaja and there will also be quite a lot of expectations from filmmaker Nithilan Swaminathan, who previously earned appreciation from critics for his work in Kurangu Bommai, and he too will be looking to come out firing on all cylinders in his second big-screen directorial.
