Actress Aparna Balamurali was first introduced to Tamil audiences in the acclaimed 2017 crime thriller film, 8 Thottakkal, after starring in a number of Malayalam films. She then landed the role of the female lead in Suriya's Soorarai Pottru in 2020, which made her an overnight star, with her performance drawing wide appreciation from fans and critics. With Aparna recently winning the National Award for Best Actress at the 68th National Film Awards, the actress' next big film in Malayalam titled Ini Utharam had its official teaser released on Friday, August 19.
The Ini Utharam teaser circles predominantly around a murder in which Aparna Balamurali's character is somehow involved, while the police in Kerala too is seen to be playing a big role in the unfolding events. Touted to be a murder mystery thriller, the upcoming Malayalam film marks the directorial debut of Sudheesh Ramachandran, who has worked as an assistant in several films like 12th Man, Ram, Ente Mazha, and Thambi, while the screenplay has been written by newcomer Ranjith Unni.
Last seen in the Tamil film Veetla Vishesham, Aparna Balamurali, who has several promising big films lined up ahead, will be seen sharing screen space with actors Siddharth Menon, Jaffar Idukki, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Harish Uthaman, Chandhunath, Siddique, among others in Ini Utharam, which is gearing up for a big screen release this September. Having also garnered appreciation for her quirky role as RJ Balaji's girlfriend in Veetla Vishesham, the actress will be looking to hit the bullseye once again in Ini Utharam on the lines of her power-packed performance as Suriya's wife in Soorarai Pottru. The film has music composed by Hridayam fame Hesham Abdul Wahab, while the cinematography and editing are done by Ravi Chandran and Jithin D K, respectively.
