Veteran director Mani Ratnam and RRR stars were among a list of members from the Indian film fraternity who are invited by the prestigious Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences to join the organisation as members in 2023. An official statement from the Academy has stated that they have sent invites to 398 new members for this year. It includes 14 celebrated members of the Indian film fraternity. From the Tamil film industry, veteran director Mani Ratnam who recently made the blockbuster hit film Ponniyin Selvan 2 has also been invited to join as a member of the Academy. RRR Stars Ram Charan and NT Rama Rao Jr, Cinematographer, music composer, etc, have also been invited to join as the members of the Academy. Here is the full of members from India who were invited:

Ram Charan and NT Rama Rao Jr. from RRR which resonated world-wide have been invited to join the Actors Branch.
K.K. Senthil Kumar, the Director of Photography of RRR has been invited to join the Cinematographers branch.
Music composer M.M. Keeravani and lyricist Chandrabose of Naatu Naatu, RRR fame have been invited to join the Music branch.
The National award-winning production designer of RRR Sabu Cyril for the Production Design branch.
Ponniyin Selvan director Mani Ratnam and filmmaker Chaitanya Tamhane known for making The Disciple which was screened in many film festivals were invited to join the Directors branch.
Shaunak Sen, who made the documentary All That Breathes, has been invited to join the Documentary branch.
Producers Siddharth Roy Kapur and Karan Johar for the Producers branch.
Haresh Hingorani of Red Chillies and P.C. Sanath the co-founder of the Firefly Creative Studio from the VFX branch.
Kranti Sarma who has worked in hit Indian and Hollywood films was also invited to join the Production and Technology Branch.
In an official statement, the CEO of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences and the president have stated that they have represented “extraordinary global talent across cinematic disciplines and have made a vital impact on the arts and scenes of motion pictures and on move fans worldwide” They also stated that they are happed to welcome the artist and professionals into the membership. These members would vote for the nominations and winners of the Academy and Oscar Awards.
