2020 has not been a quite eventful year for everyone due to the outbreak of Coronavirus and its aftermath. Indian cinema is also undergoing a very tough phase for the past few months as we have been constantly hearing about the death of various actors, directors, and technicians. People like Irrfan Khan, Rishi Kapoor, Sushant Singh Rajput, Sethuraman, director Sachy, Chiranjeevi Sarja, cinematographer B Kannan, Visu lost their lives in the last four months. Having said that, it has now come to everyone’s notice that actor Anil Murali is no more.

Anil Murali is quite a very popular actor in Malayalam cinema, known for acting in supporting characters. He was mostly seen playing cop roles. He has also acted in a number of Tamil films as well. Anil Murali has acted in over 200 films and he is always known for his impactful performances as a villain and supporting actor.

Some of Anil Murali's notable works in Malayalam cinema include Kanyakumariyil Oru Kavitha, Avan Chandiyude Makan, The Don, Rock & Roll, Pokkiri Raja, Puthiya Mukham, Kerala Cafe, Bodyguard, Nayakan, City of God, Run Baby Run, Thappana, Ayalum Njanum Thammil, Lollipop, Karmayodha, Vishudhan, Immanuel, Avatharam, Iyobinte Pusthakam, Ramaleela, Aakashamittayee, Joseph, Uyare, Moonam Pralayam and the recent Tovino Thomas starrer Forensic.

In Tamil, Anil Murali has acted in films like 6 Candles, Nimirndhu Nil, Thani Oruvan, Kanithan, Appa, Kodi, Thondan, Mr Local, Jiivi, Naadodigal 2, etc. He was last seen in Sibiraj's action cop drama, Walter.

Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran who has acted with Anil Murali in a lot of films, took to his social media page to share this news with his followers. He shared Anil Murali’s picture and wrote, “Rest in peace Anil Etta. #AnilMurali”. Many other actors and celebrities are also mourning the death of Anil.

According to reports, Anil was undergoing treatment for liver related problems in a private hospital in Kochi, Kerala. He was 56 years old when he breathed his last. Anil Murali is survived by his wife Suma, son Adithya and daughter Arundathi. Anil Murali’s demise is indeed a big loss for the south Indian film industry.
