The sequel to Telugu superstar Allu Arjun's Pushpa: The Rise will be launched in a grand ceremony on August 22, the blockbuster production banner Mythri Movie Makers announced on Sunday. Labeling it as "India's most anticipated movie", the makers in their latest announcement informed fans that the upcoming film is going to be bigger than the first installment released in late 2021, while also officially confirming the title for the sequel to be Pushpa: The Rule. Mythri Movie Makers tweeted, "Pushpa Raj is back! This time to Rule. #PushpaTheRule Pooja Ceremony tomorrow. India's most anticipated sequel is going to be BIGGER", with the announcement poster revealing the title as Pushpa: The Rule. Check it out below:

Director Sukumar's Pushpa: The Rule will see Allu Arjun reprising his role alongside national sensation Rashmika Mandanna, who played the adorable Srivalli, while Malayalam superstar Fahadh Faasil is set to appear this time in a full-fledged role as the antagonist SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat after being seen for a brief amount of time in the first film. The sequel is set to pick up after the events of Pushpa: The Rise, which went on to become the highest-grossing Indian film in 2021, after it was released in Telugu along with its dubbed versions in Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, and Kannada languages.

A majority of the cast and crew from Pushpa: The Rise will be retained for Pushpa: The Rule and that will also include composer Devi Sri Prasad, whose songs in the first film were chart-busters across the country. Several factors like an engaging story and screenplay, power-packed performances, foot-tapping music, and world-class technicalities were observed to be reasons for the success of Pushpa, including actress Samantha's cameo appearance in the 'Oo Antava Oo Oo Antava' dance song and it remains to be seen if she too will be seen once again in the sequel.
