Divya Spandana, who was expected to play the lead in Darshan starrer Bulbul, opted out of the film due to remuneration issues.
Sources state that though Divya was willing to slash her remuneration understanding the film’s budget limitations, she was quite disappointed when the filmmakers offered her an amount much lesser than what she has been paid so far. Also, sources state that Divya has been signed as the leading lady of another Sandalwood film with better remuneration.
The Bulbul team is currently looking out for a suitable South Indian actress for Divya’s role. Bulbul, directed by M.D. Sridhar, is the remake of the Telugu blockbuster Darling which starred Prabhas and Kajal Aggarwal in the lead roles.
